2011-2012 School Year

I'm so excited to embark on my 10th year in public education.  Time passes so fast and it's hard to believe that with 9 full years of "experience," I still get butterflies in my tummy when preparing for another school year.  I always want everything perfect for my kids' first day and, no matter the time spent on planning and preparation, I always wish my classroom looked "a little better." However, the first week was great!! I have a lot of familiar faces because I teach 6th and 7th grade, which goes a long way in calming my nerves.  These are my buddies and the second year together builds a foundation for everyone around us.  However, the dozens of fresh faces provide opportunities to make new friendships and the "getting to know you" process presents an exciting challenge.
We're going to have a great year!!! I'll be teaching and learning at the same time.  My pursuit of a masters in educational administration will be challenging but I'm looking forward to applying things I learn to the success of my classroom and school.
